Lemon Juice

Lemon juice is packed with antibacterial properties and is a great way to reduce the inflammation.

Our skin is healthiest when it is slightly acidic and the pH level of our skin is roughly equivalent to the pH level of lemon juice.

This is the reason why lemon juice acts like an elixir for our skin.

Some caution needs to be exercised while using lemon juice. As when the lemon juice applied to the skin gets exposed to sunlight it can leave sunspots on the skin.

Especially, in dark-skinned people due to the fact that they produce more antioxidants and hence, are at a greater risk of getting sunspots when exposed to the sun.

  • Leave it for 15 to 30 minutes

Toothpaste is also a proven remedy to get rid of pimples and any inflammation caused by a pimple.

Toothpaste is so effective in reducing or eliminating a pimple owing to the presence of silica.

Baking Soda

Baking soda is another easily available magic ingredient renowned for its anti-inflammatory properties.

It helps in bringing down the flare-ups and soothing the rashes, redness, irritation, and sunburn.

Baking soda is also a very effective remedy for treating acne scars and pigmentation.

I personally, love baking soda as I find it to be the mildest exfoliant available that not only cleans my skin but has also helped me in getting rid of the redness from popped pimples on many occasions.

Baking Soda is one of the most versatile ingredients that is available, it can either be used on its own simply diluted with a little water or with a host of other ingredients like honey, coconut oil, lemon juice, etc, only to add to its wonders.

Direction To Use:

  • Mix 2 tablespoon baking soda with 2 tablespoon water and a little non - comedogenic moisturizer and mix it properly.
  • Wash your face and pat dry the excess moisture and then apply the prepared paste on the affected area and let it sit for at least 15 minutes.
  • Wash off with either lukewarm or cold water and finish off with the application of moisturizer.

Baking soda usually generates a lot of mixed reviews among people. While some people love this beauty ingredient others don’t think too highly about it.

It is a known fact that different skin types react to it in a different manner. Before jumping head on, it is advisable to take a small patch test before using it.

If you feel any burning sensation or itchiness and redness - then my dear am sorry to say but, baking soda is not meant for you.
